Samon Tavakoli, MD

Dr. Samon Tavakoli is a fellowship-trained neurosurgeon and a proud native Texan. He completed a significant portion of his advanced neurosurgical training in San Antonio, where he cared for patients from across South Texas, including many from Laredo. During that time, he recognized a critical need for expanded access to specialty neurosurgical care in the Laredo region. He subspecialized in Cranial and Skull Base Surgery at the Medical College of Wisconsin where he learned endoscopic and radiosurgery techniques for the treatment of brain tumors.

With a passion for restoring function and improving lives, Dr. Tavakoli specializes in comprehensive, minimally invasive brain and spine surgery—including advanced endoscopic and tubular techniques that allow for faster recovery and less postoperative pain. Dr. Tavakoli’s practice integrates state-of-the-art technology with individualized care strategies to relieve pain, restore neurologic function, and help patients reclaim their quality of life.
